Primary Accountabilities:
This position impacts the quality and effectiveness of speech therapy services in the on-site pediatric outpatient program. A Speech Language Pathologist will assess and treat infants and children with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. Children requiring speech and language intervention most frequently have a diagnosis of developmental speech delay, autism spectrum disorders, hearing impairment, cerebral palsy, genetic disorders and other neurological conditions.
Major Duties:
  • Perform speech therapy evaluations of infants and children as prescribed by referring physicians.
  • Interpret evaluation results and develop a treatment plan including functional goals.
  • Determine appropriate frequency and duration of treatment.
  • Implement evidence-based treatment for infants and children with disabilities to include involving families in treatment sessions for training and collaboration.
  • Create accurate and timely documentation using electronic medical records system.
  • Communicate with intake coordinators and business office staff to schedule and bill services in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other members of the pediatric therapy department.
  • Follow organizational policies.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Master of Science, Speech Language Pathology with Certificate of Clinical Competency.
  • Current licensure with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
  • Experience with pediatric speech therapy preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass background checks and drug test per agency procedures.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent bending, standing or sitting.
  • Ability to lift up to thirty (30) pounds.
