Primary Accountabilities:
The Sales Associate will possess an excellent familiarity with the products sold in the store and the other customer service businesses (auto detailing, small engine repair, furniture). The Sales Associate will offer assistance to customers as needed.  In addition to selling products, a Sales Associate will handle financial transactions, such as receiving payment and making any necessary change.

Major Duties:
  • Counts the cash drawer with the designated management personnel prior to opening for business. 
  • At closing, the daily sales register report will be completed and cash drawer given to the assigned management personnel.
  • Coaches supported persons by providing training on store duties which may include: how to greet customers, bag items, stock shelves, maintain the shop and complete sales transactions.
  • Records inventory of the products in the store weekly and forwards the inventory to the Adult Day Services Manager and Operations Director Adult Services.
  • Contacts the police (911) in the event of theft or burglary immediately and notifies management staff.
  • Follows the ESCF sales protocol.
  • Responds to the needs, desires and interests of the persons supported in the business support area.
  • Understands crisis intervention and resolution techniques and uses such techniques as identified for persons supported.
  • Supports the purpose and practices of ESCF and participates in organizational activities.
  • Follows organizational policies and protocols.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience supporting people with disabilities.
  • Read, write and speak fluent English.
  • Cash register experience.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug test per agency procedures.
  • Completes orientation training and maintain training certification based on agency procedures.


Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Walking, bending, squatting, reaching and moving the majority of the time.
  • May involve sitting for brief periods of time.
 
Work Environment:
  • Direct contact with individuals who are severely physically and/or developmentally disabled and who may exhibit unpredictable behavior and uncontrollable outbursts. The physical characteristics of the work environment are such that noise and odor control procedures are required. May work with individuals with Hepatitis B and/or other blood borne pathogens.
