The CNC Programmer develops CNC programs for large machine tools using CAD/CAM software.  The CNC Programmer also works with machine operators, engineers and plant management to develop best machining practices for common parts.

Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to:
  • Develop new CNC programs for new parts, using CAD/CAM software.
  • Edit existing CNC programs to correct errors or make approved changes.
  • Develop and write sub routines for simple machining operations.
  • Select proper tooling from shop tool store to utilize in each program.
  • Communicate new tooling suggestions or needs to plant management.
  • Work with machine operators to develop proper part setups on machinery utilizing existing fixtures.
  • Schedule and prioritize work according to current production plans.
  • Work with plant engineers to develop machine drawings according to current manufacturing processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Job Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • Able to read and understand G-Code.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM & AutoCAD preferred.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in general warehouse activities.
  • SAP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, present information and answer questions clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to analyze data or information by identifying the underlying principles, reasons or facts of information while using logic to address work-related issues and problems.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, plan, set priorities and exercise good judgment in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of HFRM.
  • Demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.
Physical Demands:
  • Twist and turn moves.
  • Squatting.
  • Ability to overhead lift supplies up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
  • Professional and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Interaction with staff and customers.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environment which includes extreme heat in the summer and cold in the winter, dust and exposure to moving mechanical parts.
