Job Summary:
The HR business partner (HRBP) is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The HRBP serves as a consultant to management on human resource related issues. The successful HRBP acts as an employee champion and change agent, assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, and seeks to develop integrated solutions by proactively communicating needs with our HR Department and business management.. The HRBP formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. Compensation and benefits are areas of expertise required as this HRBP.  

Essential Job Functions:
  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues; conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Develops and implements salary structure and administrative guidelines in accordance with compensation policy.
  • Participates in the administration of the performance management system to ensure compliance with salary administration guidelines.
  • Conducts job analysis to determine appropriate salary levels for positions according to established compensation guidelines.
  • Assists in the planning and development of various benefit programs to meet company and department goals and objectives.
  • Serves as subject matter expert on HRIS system.
  • Conducts orientations with new employees as needed.
 
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Experience 
Five (5) to seven (7) years' experience in HR areas including employee relations, performance management, compensation, and benefits.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field, preferred.

Interpersonal Skills
  • Relationship management.
  • General knowledge of employment law and practices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks while providing excellent customer service.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.

Physical Requirements: 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk.  Some light physical effort required including ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some local evening and weekend travel may be expected.  

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
