Primary Accountabilities:
The Marketing Manager is responsible for working with the Vice President, Development to plan, implement and evaluate a comprehensive marketing program and work with Easterseals Capper Foundation (“ESCF”) senior management team, directors, managers and staff to achieve the strategic goals of creating awareness, referrals and charitable support for services provided by ESCF.
The Marketing Manager plans, initiates, and implements ongoing activities to support organizational marketing and communications plan, including internal and external communications, public relations, marketing of pediatric services, adaptive recreation, adult services, volunteer services, special events and development activities.
Major Duties:
  • Produces or oversees production of marketing materials, presentations and videos as needed to support marketing of ESCF services and special events. Writes, designs, and manages the production and distribution in multimedia formats of media releases, ads, program brochures, newsletters, fund development solicitations, direct mail, website updates, and other communications materials for internal and external audiences.
Website/Social Media/Digital Signage
  • Directs the development and updating of ESCF website as a marketing and communications tool within the scope of Easterseals headquarters’ guidelines on a monthly basis or as needed. Plans/curates content to promote ESCF services and Easterseals initiatives.
  • Produces advertising copy, article scripts, letters, announcements and similar materials, and takes photographs for distribution in newspapers, magazines, online and other publications.
Publicity / Media Relations
  • Works with the Vice President, Development to plan, implement and evaluate an effective media relations program to create greater public awareness of constituents’ needs and ESCF programs, including preparation of news and feature stories. Develops and distributes news releases as needed, and coordinates responses to media inquiries. Cultivates and maintains positive relationships with media, staff, clients, family members and public. 
Special Events
  • Works with the Vice President, Development and the Community Engagement Manager to develop materials, video scripts, flyers needed to promote special events.
Community Awareness
  • Schedules media interviews, places advertisements and utilizes social media to create public awareness of services, special events and community events.
  • Supervises the Marketing Assistant to achieve the marketing plan goals and objectives.
  • Orders and maintains supply of Capper letterhead stationery and envelopes. Arranges for vendor services for design, printing, ad placement, and other services.
  • Researches, interviews sources, and stays current on healthcare topics, marketing & fund development trends, and community activities.
  • Plans meetings, presentations, programs, and special events and participates and represents department in these activities, as needed.
  • Serves as liaison to Board Marketing Committee.
  • Serves as affiliate marketing partner on Easterseals Make The First Five Count program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, business administration or equivalent experience.
  • Comprehensive personal computing skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with graphic design for print and web projects; photography, website management, using Adobe products including Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Experience with online monitoring and measurement platforms, such as Facebook Insights, YouTube Insights, Google Analytics, HootSuite, TweetDeck, and Social Mention.
  • Familiarity with developing and launching email and text messaging campaigns preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines handling several assignments simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with and interact effectively with internal and external contacts.
  • Read, write and speak fluent English.
  • Pass background checks and drug test per ESCF procedures.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to speak and hear.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach and use hands.
  • Ability to read computer screens for an extended period of time.
  • Able to lift up to thirty (30) pounds.
