Reporting Relationship: Vice President of Brand Strategy
Primary Accountability:
The Web UX Brand Manager provides the creation and ongoing updates of the Greater Topeka Partnership (“GTP” or “Partnership”) websites and affiliated organizations. The Web UX Brand Manager is responsible for steering the attractiveness of the Topeka community to residents, potential visitors, businesses, and media relations through the websites layout and features, and landing pages.
Major Duties:
  • Creating wireframes, storyboards, sitemaps and screen flows designed to maximize UX.
  • Communicates personas and usage scenarios.
  • Assists with content development.
  • Works collaboratively with GTP staff to build and maintain a strong team environment to accomplish the tasks necessary to serve and support the goals of the Partnership.
  • Makes deliberate design decisions and translates any given user-experience journey into a smooth and intuitive interaction.
  • Performs tasks with an eye for clean and artful design.
  • Stays up-to-date on emerging design patterns and trends and uses knowledge to help establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards.
  • Ensures that a consistent design language is applied across the product by maintaining consistency in visual elements and behavior.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by Management. 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of professional work experience (preferred).
  • Demonstrable web design skills with a strong portfolio.
  • Understanding of basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping.
  • Proficient understanding of design programs and tools, such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of web-based programs and social media platforms with the ability to learn new programs and technologies as needed, which include Google analytics, CRM and CMS software, email marketing software and other job-related software.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally through both verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of GTP.
  • Demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.
  • Commitment to the Topeka community expressed through active involvement.
  • Passion for Topeka attractions and knowledge of community events.
Physical Demands:
  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Read computer screens and mail, email, talk on the phone.
  • Ability to unpack and move supplies up to thirty (30) pounds.
  • Attend events as required.
Work Environment:
  • Professional and deadline-oriented environment in an office setting.
  • Interaction with staff and clients.
