Job Title: Manager Adult Day Services

Primary Accountabilities: The primary function of the Manager Adult Day Services is to develop, plan, implement and evaluate programs for persons supported by Capper Foundation’s various day service locations, in accordance with the organization’s strategic and operational plans.

Major Duties:
  • Provide strategic planning, program development, personnel management, and overall operational administration, including coordination of ongoing activities to meet the established mission of the program
  • Ensure quality supports that are culturally relevant, age appropriate and maximize independence and choice
  • Train and manage assigned employees, veterans and volunteers; complete performance evaluations
  • Ensure implementation of all Capper policies and procedures
  • Participate in the state and local programs to assure Capper is positioned to be proactive in evolving environments
  • Prepare for and participate in all applicable licensing reviews, ensure compliance; develop and implement plans of correction if necessary
  • Ensures conformance with appropriate safety requirements and laws
  • Manages documentation requirements accurately
  • Provide on call assistance to programs as requested
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma; Bachelor’s degree in human services preferred
  • Prior experience working in a supervisory or administrative position
  • Prior experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities
  • Valid Kansas drivers license
  • Read, write and speak fluent English
  • Must be able to pass background checks and drug test per agency procedures
Training Requirements:
  • CPR and First Aid Instructor Certification
  • Mandt Instructor Certification
  • All other training as required
Physical Demands:
  • May be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to 25 pounds
  • Walking, bending, squatting, reaching and moving about most of the time
  • May involve sitting for brief periods of time
Work Environment:
  • Typically work occurs indoors
  • Direct contact with individuals who are severely physically and/or developmentally disabled and who may exhibit unpredictable behavior and uncontrollable outbursts. The physical characteristics of the work environment are such that noise and odor control procedures are required. May work with individuals with Hepatitis B and/or other blood borne pathogens.
