DCCCA is recruiting for a Director of Operations for its Behavioral Health program. This position is responsible for ensuring consistency and efficiency in the behind-the-scenes administrative and operational processes and systems, in turn, allowing front-line teams to focus on serving clients.
Successful candidates are strategic thinkers who enjoy handling multiple projects at the same time, making decisions, and being held accountable for those decisions. They enjoy working with and through people and have proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams. They are successful in working across departments and organizational units to implement change. A good eye for detail and the ability to follow-up are also important to success in this role. The Director supervises employees located in Pratt; Wichita; Pittsburg; and Lawrence, Kansas, and requires travel 4-5 days per month to these locations. Overnight stay is not required, but available. This position may office from Lawrence, KS or Wichita, KS and is not a remote position.

Essential Functions
  • Establishes, monitors, and continually refines processes and systems that support client service delivery. 
  • Provides guidance and direction to direct reports, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Oversees ongoing implementation of key department systems, including electronic clinical record and other technologies, utilization management and smart phone applications.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve efficiencies and influence positive client and financial outcomes.
  • Assesses payer, licensing, and accreditation requirements to ensure processes are developed and implemented consistently throughout the department.
  • Leads coordination and integration of efforts among BH operations team, clinical teams, finance, and quality improvement teams to produce efficient workflows that minimize redundancy and maximize revenue.
  • Facilitates system, workflow and process trainings for department staff as needed.
  • Supervises operations staff team.
  • Serves as an engaged member of the Behavioral Health Leadership team and other agency teams to promote mission driven and strategic initiatives.
 
Education, Experience, and Abilities
  • Master’s degree in public health, public administration, business, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience in healthcare, behavioral health, non-profit setting.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience supervising teams.
  • Working knowledge of insurance and utilization review and understanding of complex systems.
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with others.
  • Ability to create and implement strategies to achieve the desired vision.
  • Ability to work with and through people to spearhead enhancements to existing processes.
  • This position travels 4 to 5 days per month to visit the cities in which their direct reports office: Pratt; Wichita; Pittsburg; and Lawrence, Kansas. Travel may include early morning or evening hours, as needed. Overnights are rarely required, but available.
