Job Title: HR Recruiter/Generalist

Reporting Relationship: Vice President of Finance/Human Resources
Primary Accountabilities:
The HR Recruiter/Generalist is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating recruitment functions to ensure adequate staffing to meet the organization’s operational needs. Position will also provide human resources generalist support including record keeping, information tracking, employee benefit enrollments/terminations, FMLA, worker’s compensation, HR policy implementation, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Major Duties:
Recruiting (75%)
- Receives personnel requisitions for position vacancies, reviews requisitions for accuracy and appropriate approvals.
- Consults with managers to gain criteria for their needs, work hours and job requirements. Coordinates with managers, directors and the VP Finance/HR for job description updates.
- Proactively and strategically develops and manages recruiting strategy and candidate sources to provide pipeline of qualified candidates for exempt and non-exempt positions.
- Actively and creatively develops new ways to source candidates including job fairs, community relationships, networking opportunities, social media outlets, etc. Sources candidates, as appropriate through advertisements, college contacts/connections, professional associations, community resources, employee referrals, applicant files, and related activities.
- Administers recruiting for all agency programs.
- Reviews completed applications, evaluates applicants’ qualifications; shares qualified candidates with hiring managers.
- Participates in interviewing/selection process including phone screens, in-person interviews, reference checks, background screens, etc.
- Keeps applications and records of data gathered through the interview process for compliance.
- Coordinates offer of employment to candidates selected for hire. Ensures that all policies related to employment offer are complete including reference checks, pre-employment drug screen, pre-employment background checks and all applicable pre-employment processes and documentation are complete.
- Coordinates new hire first day and ensures all paperwork is completed.
Generalist (25%)
- Provides support in the areas of: benefit administration, HRIS and other systems data entry (processing new hires, terminations, transfers), worker’s compensation, FMLA/leave administration, payroll, etc.
- Stays up-to-date with technical and legal developments, and state and federal laws impacting the workplace.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Acts as an ambassador of Mainline Printing in the community setting.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field or equivalent experience required.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
- 3 years’ experience in full cycle recruiting required
- Strong strategic skills and the ability to act as a visionary for the company.
- Knowledge of management, supervisor, leadership methods and principles.
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws and HP practices.
- Knowledge of techniques for interviewing, selecting, and recruiting applicants for employment.
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness, strong morals, and ethics.
- Ability to communicate and interact clearly and professionally through both verbal and written skills at all levels and across all functions.
- Strong business and financial skills, including financial planning, budgeting and financial reporting.
- Ability to apply discretion and sound judgement in sensitive situations and remain calm in stressful situations and deal well with conflict.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to read computer screens and email, mail and talk on the phone.
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
Work Environment:
- Business hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm CST. This position may be required to work during non-standard business hours to complete tasks.
- Professional and deadline-oriented environment in an office setting.
- Some working time will be spent in a warehouse environment which may be excessively warm during the summer and cool during the winter.
