Opportunity

We are seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our Kansas City team; you will be an essential part of our preconstruction team. This position will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, developing competitive bids, and working closely with project managers, clients, and vendors to ensure project success from the start.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • 3+ years’ experience in electrical estimating (commercial/industrial focus/design build projects)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and estimating tools (Accubid preferred).
  • Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team..

Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications and bid documents.
  • Perform comprehensive takeoff for all aspects of electrical construction in accordance with contract documents.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of environmental factors and how to apply them.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of NEC and be able to identify these applications in documents.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with material vendors and sub-contractors.
  • Detail and communicate proposal requests for material vendors and sub-contractors.
  • Review and verify accuracy of material vendor and subcontractor proposals.
  • Prepare proposals, including scope letters, bid forms, itemized breakouts, etc. as required to complete proposal requests.
  • Assist in preparing budget pricing, as requested.
  • Attend Pre-bid meetings, as requested.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, foremen, and management staff to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Prepare and communicate project information to hand-over to project management.
