Reporting Relationship: CFO/Production Manager

Primary Accountabilities:

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for designing and executing purchasing strategies that ensure constant availability of inventory and cultivating working relationships with suppliers to ease the process of acquiring new materials.

Major Duties:

  • Purchases goods and services for the company.
  • Maintains accurate inventory counts and appropriate stock levels
  • Develops procurement rules and regulations.
  • Establishes guidelines on how often price quotes for items take place, what number of bids accepted and which vendors to consider.
  • Discusses contracts.
  • Evaluates quality, price, reliability, technical support and availability of goods and services..

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year of experience with accounts payable and/or six (6) hours of college level accounting.
  • Above average math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and general knowledge of bookkeeping accounting procedures obtained through work experience.
  • Proficient computer experience with advanced knowledge of various computer programs necessary to open accounts along with an ability to operate a 10-key calculator with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally through both verbal and written skills with customers in English.
  • Ability to effectively work with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and to make reliable and prompt decisions using available information.
  • Demonstrate good work habits, maintain a professional appearance and attitude and follow policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to read computer screens.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Professional and deadline-oriented environment in an office setting
  • Interaction with external and internal customers, including disgruntled customers..
