Job Title: Quality/Compliance Manager
Location: Lawrence, KS

Overview: Full-time position with home health/hospice agency. Bachelor’s degree in clinical background required. Must be in good standing and able to meet all federal and state licensure requirements. Minimum of three years’ experience in public health, home health or health administration and progressive leadership/management responsibility in health care. Must possess teaching skills, have knowledge of federal and state certification standards applicable to agency and experience with supervision and management of staff. Experience in Home Health and/or Hospice quality and compliance is preferred.

Duties
  • Plan, implement, promote and evaluate quality improvement principles and practice throughout all programs.
  • Coordinate customer satisfaction survey evaluation and improvement activities.
  • Oversight of VNA complaint process, including maintenance of complaint log and analysis of trends.
  • Review and analyze clinical metrics reports, e.g. patient outcomes, adverse events.
  • Implement and participate in medical record audits as indicated by regulation and/or QI analysis.
  • Develop quality improvement plans of action in partnership with Director of Clinical Services and Clinical Managers.
  • Assure State Survey readiness with assistance of Management Team.
  • Coordinate on-site survey activities for all programs in partnership with Director of Clinical Services/designee.
  • Keep current on QI/compliance information and trends.
  • Knowledgeable of compliance and regulatory issues, advising CEO, Management Team and Board of Directors, as required.
  • Conduct new staff orientation for quality/compliance.
  • Educate staff of new and upcoming compliance changes.
  • Investigate any compliance concerns brought forth by staff and/or community.
  • Responsible for oversight of VNA’s infection control program.
  • Develop and maintain contact with health care professionals as needed to support VNA’s quality and compliance programs.
  • Ensure regulatory and clinical practice standards are followed for quality of care and compliance.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and teamwork within departments, as well as with other agencies.
  • Assure agency programs and services adhere to mission, vision and values of VNA.
  • Share responsibility with creation and achievement of agency goals.
  • Serve as agency Compliance Officer.
  • Assist with updates of agency policy manual.
  • Serve as information privacy consultant to the agency for all departments and appropriate entities, including guidance and assistance with policy/procedure development, all business associate agreements, and any/all releases of protected health information.
Education, knowledge, licensure & certification
  • Professional education with clinical background required
  • In good standing and able to meet all federal and state licensure requirements
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in public health, home health or health administration and progressive leadership/management responsibility in health care.
  • Computer skills and knowledge as required to perform job duties
  • Possess teaching skills • Knowledge of federal and state certification standards applicable to agency
  • Experience with supervision and management of staff
