Description:
HF Rubber Machinery, Inc., a subsidiary of the HF Mixing Group, is the global leader in the manufacturing of rubber and plastic processing equipment.  HFRM, based in Topeka, Kansas is looking for a Logistics Coordinator. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for arranging freight services for incoming and outgoing shipments including international. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, a positive and professional image, ability to work with all levels of employees, excellent organizational skills, and be a self-starter with a high degree of self-motivation and initiative.

Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to:
  • Arrange for all in-bound and out-bound freight and expedited shipments.
  • Provide purchasing and sub-contracting routing instructions for shipments.
  • Prepare all customs documents for export and import shipments.
  • Arrange for shipment of tools for Engineering Field Service both domestically and internationally.
  • Process damaged freight claims.
  • Work with broker on export and import shipments.
  • Prepare labels for customer and intercompany shipments.
  • Provide shipment status to customers.
  • Evaluate existing and new freight carriers including annual negotiations for best rates.
  • Review of all freight invoices.
  • Maintain customer inquiry log to ensure all customer inquiries are recorded including description of goods, customer contact, and forward to appropriate CSD representative.
  • Liaison between HF (Topeka) CSD and vendors (HF affiliates & Purchasing Department) for Cooper Tire.
  • Code all incoming and outgoing freight to correct freight account or order.
  • Determine shipping method of incoming vendor shipments.
  • Maintain spreadsheet for tracking of incoming shipments for Purchasing Department.
  • Provide back-up for warehouse as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Knowledge of rubber industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of state, federal and international regulations for importing and exporting goods.
  • Intermediate computer and word processing skills, in particular Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • SAP experience preferred. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate, present information and answer questions clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to analyze data or information by identifying the underlying principles, reasons or facts of information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, plan, set priorities and exercise good judgment in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of HFRM.
  • Demonstrate poise, tact, and diplomacy with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.
Physical Demands:
  • Sit for extended periods of time. 
  • Read computer screens, email and talk on the phone. 
  • Ability to unpack and move supplies up to fifty (50) pounds.
Work Environment: 
  • Professional and deadline-oriented environment. 
  • Interaction with staff and customers. 
  • Limited exposure to manufacturing environment which includes extreme heat in the summer and cold in the winter, dust and exposure to moving mechanical parts.
