Position: Administrative Specialist
Job Classification: Non-exempt, Full-time
Hours: 40 Hours per week: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, occasionally on Sunday mornings
Pay Range: $18 to $20 per hour (based on experience)
Location: Onsite, Hi-Crest area
The Mission of the Administrative Assistant is to facilitate spiritual growth in our community through the power of Jesus Christ by providing smooth, easily accessible materials, details, data, and information.
A day in the life of an Administrative Assistant:
- Receive and direct telephone calls for the church and assist with SENT Topeka phones
- Maintain the Lead Pastor’s appointment calendar
- Assist with meeting preparation
- Maintain the Lead Pastor’s calendar and files
- Work with the bookkeeper and accountant to track and reconcile expenses for Fellowship Hi-Crest
- Perform administrative duties for the Lead Pastor, such as reviewing correspondence and making travel arrangements
- Lead the Administrative volunteers for both organizations.
- Available to purchase items or run errands for the Lead Pastor
- Manage Planning Center assignments like creating and editing forms and workflows
- Assist and update member’s profile information as needed
- Manage event registrations and calendar management
- Assist ministry teams with locating resources and questions & answers
- Work collaboratively with staff to maintain a team environment to accomplish the tasks necessary to serve and support FHC & SENT.
- Flexible to accept additional assignments as requested by management
- Attend FHC staff and leadership team meetings when scheduled
Administrative Assistant Attributes and Skills:
- Ability to exercise creativity and sound judgment without close supervision

- Proficiency with the English language: reading, writing, and speaking
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and customer service skills – in person and on the telephone – with a diverse population, with individuals, and with groups

Administrative Assistant Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience as a lead administrative assistant, preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suites (docs, sheets, calendar, etc.)
- Experience managing a people-based database; specifically, Planning Center would be preferred
- Maintain and organize files in different accounts like Evernote, Dropbox, and Google Drive
